Fashion | The end of Winter

Jacket: George, ASDA, Plaid Dress: George ASDA, Leggings: H&M, Boots: Clarks, Scarf: Zara

Almost as bad and difficult as changing from warmer months to cooler is the other way around when spring starts creeping in and you find yourself confused by your wardrobe.

Like many, I thoroughly rely on my weather apps to see whether I need full on winter gear or just light layering. This dress was something I longed for in early Autumn as it feels really great for transitioning.

Here on a colder day it can be paired with a thick jacket, scarf, leggings and boots whilst as it gets warmer I can quickly ditch the leggings and jacket and move into spring effortlessly.

I am also a huge fan of plaids and this pretty pink and blue is a nice twist on a classic!

Masculine Tailoring for Spring

Jumper: H&M Sale, White Collared Shirt: H&M Mens, Blue Jeggings: H&M, Taupe and Pink Brogues: Clarks Bag: Primark

Before we start let me tell you taking these photos was a careful balancing act. Not only is it the first blog post wearing contacts. (I’m normally half blind for photos – I just have to get Josh to shout in which direction to look. I joke, I joke, thats only when I’m tired 😉 ) I am also primarily balancing on one foot.

You see I did something foolish. I wore really flat flats which always hurt my feet, hurt said foot then ran on it. Needless to say just out of the shot was a crutch and the promise that I would be spending the rest of the day resting and not getting any chores done unless it was on one leg whilst balancing an ice pack.

If your reading this with a warm climate then you be squinting a little at the screen. Is that really a big jumper? Yes, it might be. It was one of my uber cheap sale pieces which I bought with the intention of wearing it next year only it actually works quite well for the cooler days of Spring.

I wore this as my coat come sweater for our Saturday errands and is actually currently sitting in my Spring wardrobe. Shocking but at the same time with anyone who lives in a climate which changes drastically you sometimes need a warm piece of clothing which can bridge the gap when you need it.

Now masculine tailoring. It shouldn’t work but it does. I love pairing a crisp shirt with softer elements like a comfortable knit and then adding a little sparkle for interest. These shoes are also perfect for stabilising a pesky foot!

Now all we have to do is keep our fingers crossed that next week I might be able to wear more than these shoes and trainers!

Spring cliches

Dress: H&M (in store, £7.99! ack!), Top: H&M (In store basics range £6.99), Bag: Primark (Last autumn), Sandals: New Look 2013, Sunglasses: Next

I have honestly fallen in love with H&M dresses this spring/summer. This beauty cost under a tenner and that my friends to me is not only a bargain but incredible! It seems like only just yesterday I was complaining about a lack of actual knee length skirts and dresses for sale and now, now they are back!

Don’t get me wrong, the midi trend was fun when paired with ankle boots or a heel but it wasn’t the most practical or even flattering at times so I am glad to have good old knee length dresses back in my wardrobe!

I must admit, me and the bear agree that this dress looks far better in person; to the point that most of the pictures we took don’t exactly do me many favours but in real life, this dress is a steal! Its comfy and is great both on and off the beach and I love the mental pattern! I must say I am always searching for patterns and this just ticks all the boxes for me, as well of course being floral its dead on trend for spring right?
