Big Feet? Why you should buy your sandals now…

(Clarks Sandals Left+ Right+)

The sad fact of the matter is, if you are rocking size nine feet or larger, now is probably the first and last time you are going to be able to secure your summer sandals. Especially if you have a desire for flat, practical shoes.

In the autumn and winter you needn’t worry as quickly but in terms of the summer months? You have to make a plan and get your shoes tied down and fast.

If you think I’m joking I received my first pair in the mail last month (These cheap-ish flats from Clarks+ – I have sent these back, being as they are too flat for my feet) and after having decided they were not for me I found a further two pairs to send to my Mum and Nanna for inspection. My mum fell in love with the heavier soled pair pair whilst my nanna preferred the others and also informed me that she had bought hers two weeks prior!

See? It pays to get them in early, but why? because last year I didn’t get any, frankly because there were none! It seems that the unfortunate truth for any of us with difficult feet or bigger or smaller feet means far less choice, but seemingly no less demand. Therefore however much I wanted to wait them out for the next sale it just couldn’t be on the cards, although I may be keeping an eye on this pair+ just in case.

If you want to know about the two pairs I will more than likely review them later in the year. Upon first wearing they are both nicely cushioned and comfortable although even in the wide fittings they probably won’t be enough for anyone with very wide feet.

Holy Cow. Sandals.

I have had a two year bad streak and I know I’m in my capsule and I shouldn’t be looking but my sandals rub. Isn’t that always the way? I. am. so. sad about the state of the summer shoe situation! Why must you hurt? So I have been searching the internet and here you have it my list of gorgeous shoes that have support or cushioned soles!

That’s all I ask for in life, you know? Memory foam, soles! May I also point out, Toms!! I want, I want, I want! I just have to wait until June and I am all in!!

Guys, I’m uber psyched. It’s almost time for another three day weekend! The only problem with a three day weekend however is a four day week. You’re probably all squinting at the screen right now re reading that sentence but here’s the thing . . . I have realised that I have pretty much spent the last two months having four day weeks. Nothing bad with that of course well, until you have a five day week – hello much confusion!

See today is Thursday right? Well I also thought yesterday was Thursday, even the calendar on my watch stopped working. So I think I can confirm; five day weeks after four day ones are weird and about four days too long! So what’s a girl to do with that extra day? Well plan for jeans tomorrow, that’s what.

See, I have been having somewhat of a jeans crisis. It feels like years since I had a great pair of fitted, classic jeans. So far back in time in fact that back then super low rise was cool and no one seemed to be bothered by butt bearing jeans. I was, because obviously jeans (or most clothes in fact) are not thought with a tall girl in mind so regular butt bearers became almost unwearable!* I have deeply missed blue, faded denim. There’s nothing more flattering or more classic so why did I ever think black, navy and grey were much needed? I’m not sure, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say that I may have fallen into another of those trend traps again. But anyway, I have been on the lookout. Back in BBT (butt bearing times) I bought all my jeans from New look. They always fitted great, came in a 34” leg and were just, eghh, perfect! They had stretch that didn’t give me a muffin top to rival ones from Costco and yet still hugged in all the right places. Quite frankly, every girls dream, and yet somehow along the line I forgot about poor old New Look and cheated on it with other denim. That is until the other week.

One of my besties (yep, that words still hip with me) and I met up after her picking up a black pair from NL and it was then that I felt like hitting myself in the face. How had a forgotten my favourite drop in shoe store in the world? So I went down the following Sunday and what should I find but a, a sale, and B, these beauties. I’ve never been so happy! Or feel like the world should let me wear them all the time. Who said you should wash your jeans? Chip Burgh hasn’t after a year! Then again, I would probably miss skirts and dresses after a while! Shucks, my plans been scuppered . . . but regardless I have jeans! My card can rest easy again. Well at least until that powder blue blazer goes on sale at Dorothy Perkins that is.

*I did say almost, even I’m not above fashion disasters! Even when I still can’t figure out how I used to sit down in them, how? No really, how?

Who said July’s too early?

So for todays lunch break I went online shopping (with my cards firmly locked away – as im trying to not buy anything else this month!) and in my quest to look at potential sandals I went on Next.co.uk to find that they already hjad their autumn clothes up already! Now, yes i know this is too early but I figure its best to get prepared and so i scrolled through and thought i’d share my wants for this Autumn/Winter . . .

Leather Leggings! I want, I want, I want! and will hopefully stand a chance of getting this winter! I love these in chocolate as its always so nice having a change from black. i’m thinking it should be paired with a fancy jumper and heels for casual fridays or a top with a bit of sparkle for nights out . . .

I love this jumper – a thicker fabric is great for winter as I always get cold in winter but also its really smart and structured, imagine paired with the above! perfect!

Long cardigans and high waisted jeans? the autumn dream . . .

a spotted cardigan and new boots? oh go on then . . .

But for right now? I need another pair of sandals preferably smart with arch support and not too strappy, another patterned sundress and loose fabric trousers. . .
