Today I am in leggings and a tunic something like this . . . In the middle of the working week you ask? Why yes, yes indeed because today I have been living the dream and have been out shopping for Phoenix and the Lions Spring Antique and Vintage stock  at Newark’s International Antiques and Collectors Fair. We spent a grand total of five and half hours today collecting some really great pieces for the store and man do my feet want a break!

In fact on the topic of feet I have been missing my heels with a passion! I have lived in flat boots, converse and ballet pumps for so long now that I will do (almost) anything to put on my heels again. So of course date night with the boy has become a weekly thing just so I can wear my many heels for a few hours! (not all at the same time of course – that would be silly . . . or genius?)

Luckily this weekend we are going away to Oxfordshire with my family to celebrate my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary! So not only do I get to spend time with my favourite people in the world but I also have an excuse to pull out my heels again (and tower over Josh – He must love me!)

Until then for what we got up to (with limited internet I may add – the horror!) Check out the official Phoenix and the Lion Twitter page! we found the cutest pigs that have a fantastic story that’ll all be revealed soon!

psstttt . . . I’m wearing this tomorrow! (god forbid I explain the title! – it’s been a long day . . .)

Sales and I. (Trying to be good in a time of sales)

Lipstick: Yves Saint Laurent (the only) Rouge Pur Couture in Le Orange

I went in the mid-season Next sale. It’s one of those places you know you really shouldn’t go into at these times it’s like the unspoken rule to shopaholics like myself. Go into a next sale? You will come out with stuff you don’t need nor necessarily wear again; it’s just like the unspoken rule. So of course I went in. I obviously love torturing myself with things I can’t and shouldn’t buy.

I was however lucky this time. My recent self-teachings of buying more sensibly are obviously kicking in and working more now as I came out with three things, one of which was full price and all of which I have already tried to wear at every occasion. I also held and put back a total of four things one of which was a t-shirt saying “I’m a pretty big deal on my blog” (ok, for me in my mind and hopefully Joshes) but the quality wasn’t great so it got left behind (but this blogger loved it check it out here+) as did the identical tee shirt in a different colour but a size down sure it still fit and looked great but more blue Jess? Really? I’m banning myself from buying any more blue not sure if you’ve noticed but I have had a major influx in blue things recently! But banning! So you’ll probably see it next week – in fact you will because I haven’t posted these photos yet!

Anyhoo a while back (as mentioned here+) I saw these shirts on the site, thought how cute and that I’d love them but never bought one! (Crazy how my virtual shopping often gets literally forgotten) but anyway I saw this shirt and I love it! It’s so comfortable I have been actively stopping myself wearing it all week. However with the weekend upon us I can’t promise I won’t wear it everyday.

It’s my go to.

With the latest comfy sporty trend still going strong I can’t help but feel that this won’t be the last sporty item in my wardrobe this spring! Do you have any go to’s? And check out my day to night look with this shirt here next week!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

I think the sun has gone to my head. Why you ask? Well it could be because I find myself no longer capable of getting anywhere without rushing. The worst part is; I don’t even know why I am perpetually running – I get up at the same time, I am ready almost early and yet every morning I find myself running onto the train, running into the office, running out of the office, running for my next train, running for dinner . . . you name it I no longer walk to it, I run.

So during the week this dress is pretty useless but on the weekends . . . oh the weekends! I am one cool cookie. In fact we jammed so much in this weekend that I even chose to wash our car. Now if you know me you’ll know that car washing, not my strong suit. I was spoilt with a dad who loved his cars and made sure they looked good. Well that and I’m pretty sure he was just insuring that my messy mug of a car wasn’t bringing down the neighbourhood. (Or driveway, It probably was)

But then you know what happened? Monday. That’s what happened and so starts the cycle of running again. Oh global warming you are a cruel mistress!

This weekend marks 4 years of Josh putting up with me. Its pretty monumental.

So to celebrate we are going into London and have a date weekend. This one is all about doing everything we love but can’t fit in on a regular weekend. No errands! So of course I’m taking him shopping.

The one drawback is because of check in times we need to carry most of our clothes all day for all of the two days. Therefore everything we’re bringing needs to fit into a rucksack. Not an easy task when you’re a constant over packer.

So I have undertaken some rules to help. Which are:

  • Stick to three colours
  • Everything has to be remix-able with one another
  • and it has to fit into a small rucksack.

I am happy to report that this has worked and I may or may not have bought two new things just for the occasion. Opps, thats the part I don’t advise. Its not always budget friendly buying new clothes but it is our anniversary . . . so I’m letting myself off.

Mom-olog and Decisions

I need a dress. Now when I get that I need feeling I’ve started pulling out my inner mum-olog. You know the one, (and if you don’t – how do you get so lucky?) It’s that inner voice which a, rolls its eyes and says you need a new dress do you? But I finally beat her down this time to a yes I need a dress.

However that did not help me decide which one should I buy. Now, firstly why do I need a dress at all? Well you see every February the 18th is mine and Joshes anniversary. And every year we go back to where we met, London, stay the night in a posh hotel go out and eat Turkish food, get cocktails at browns and go see Greenwich on the Sunday. It’s a tradition now and if there’s a year without it I’m not sure how we would cope.

But anyway I normally buy a new outfit for the dinner (it’s only fair – especially to claim I bought it for him) So I found three I love and I know after having spoken with inner mum-olog that I probably should just save for the fancy Boden dress but then I asked Jess-olog (that’s mumolog’s worst enemy, thanks for asking.) and she was all, “but then you could buy two for the same . . . “But mum-olog told her off so I’m back at square one, which to buy?

So thoughts everyone? Is any of them a keeper?

I’m beginning to think that I have a problem. A boot Problem.

My shoe collection has become less shoes and more boots this last year than I (normally) care to mention. I think I went from last year having one pair of knee high slouchy boots (my beloved cowgirl/pirates of the Caribbean boots – I can’t believe those babies aren’t still around, it makes me sad.) One heeled knee high boots to . . . well a lot.

So there’s no shame here right? (If so . . . um, shhh??) Here’s the list;

Trainer boots x2 (grey and sand – yes I bought the same shoe in two colours!)

Sort of crepe soled boots x2 (Brown/Black again I bought the same shoe twice)

Black knee high boots (flat)

Grey-ey flat sort of pirate style ankle boots

Brown ankle boots (there new, A, I love them. B, this is my problem!)

The Sparkle boots of joy (there glitter is now falling off in places, again, makes me sad!)

Cowgirl ankle boots

My snowy fur lined boots (which have a heel and still allow me to walk in the snow fine (shocking)

That’s 11 pairs! 11!! And I feel like I’ve missed a pair as well!! The worst thing is . . . I keep looking for more. I see my favourite bloggers in a different type of boot and I’m like . . . want! Want! WANT!

So I think it’s my latest obsession. Like when I had ten thousand dolly shoes (this is a small exaggeration) it was more like 12 thousand. But I like to think, on the plus side these have a bit more sole to them, they don’t hurt my feet (unless they pinch, but that’s just wearing them in . . .) and they are ankle friendly! So win win!

I’m hoping to get the new brown boots on the blog soon so stay tuned!!

Yesterdays equivalent of a Hogwarts Letter.

ImageImage

Firstly isn’t my picture quality here great? Yeah, I thought you’d think so.

Yesterday was one of those magical, just got my Hogwarts letter type of magical when it comes to getting dressed. It all just fell together, the chambray shirt tied over last years riviera sundress, trainer heels and a rain mac? My god it was a good moment and I just had to get a snap before I went to work. I would have waited till I got home but honestly, my face after 11 hours on trains and sitting in front a computer screen? Not pretty, I promise you.

So instead you get this fab lack of light, misty mirror pictures, classy right?

Puddle Of Mud

ImageImageImageImageImage

Although the title may suggest it, I’m afraid to say that I didn’t unfortunately meet the classic 90’s band today! I did however meet a lot of mud and because of that I’m so thankful that these photos were taken at the beginning of the day!

This top is one of those tops that in real life seems to be worn every week but never quite gets it onto the blog. So today I thought all thats going to change! Its the perfect cover up for getting lunch on a cycle day and therefore here it is!

Thankfully however I took the top of before I fell sideways into a muddy puddle, i’d like to go, “I jest, I didn’t really fall in puddle” but alas, that would be lying.

stylin’ . . .

Image

This really doesn’t show the true extent of the puddle I found myself in. I did one of those great slow motion thought processes of I’m going down. As I stood still and fell sideways. Opps. Then we got a flat and ended up having to catch a train home, semi successful?

The Case of The Demonic Child And A Colour Explosion.

DSC_0025 CSC_0162 CSC_0158 CSC_0163 DSC_0019 CSC_0156 DSC_0011 DSC_0009 DSC_0006

So two things happened today. A, my wardrobe spat this outfit at me after I loudly complained about my wardrobes lack of colours and patterns. I swear I once had an awesome fun and bright wardrobe and now it takes a couple of hours to even find a colourful outfit to put on!

Secondly we met a demon child today while we shot this at the park. I could already tell that she was gonna be odd before she had her demonic possession  I dont joke, she literally stared me down as we shot this and then screamed (Q, creepy demonic voice) “Help! Help!” until her father moved her bike. But it freaked me out, other peoples children *shudder*

So maybe theres a reason I only wear dark colours, so the demons can’t get me . . .

Mondays unlike Sundays . . .

Don’t give you time for photo-shoots.

Unfortunately for you guys my work day means I don’t get home until eight o’clock at best, so taking photographs tend to take a back seat to things like catching up on news, Kate Middleton is pregnant? (Im hoping its a girl) and eating dinner etc . . . So for todays out fit all I have is this ->

Image

Top – H&M (Current Season) Skirt – H&M (Past season – Basics Collection) (Skull) Scarf – Zara (Portugal) Belt – Next (2009)

And its in a mirror! double wammy of rubbishness! So I figured, this is a Monday! I cant be giving all you poor worker bees such a boring post so luckily the other day I shot some fun shots for date night, because too much work attire drives anyone crazy!

Jumper (Dorothy Perkins), Scarf (Fat Face), Top (H&M, this season), Necklace (Accessorize), Belt (Next, 2009), Skirt (H&M, this season), Boots (New Look, This season)

My apologies for the blurriness but we had to take these photos with our tiny camera (mini me). But also don’t you love the funnyness of these boots, I like to call these my cowgirl boots, but I like the whimsy they add to this outfit without them, this could be a bit plain!

Until next time, Have a lovely week! xoxo
