It’s that time again folks, its exercise season. I know this because a, I am definitely packing winter weight like an animal that hibernates and B, because I almost got run over by five consecutive runners on the way home last night. And in the dark, over a high level bridge it can be pretty scary. It was almost like being roped into a flash mob. (That’s like a major nightmare of mine, along with people dressed up as Disney characters – *shudder*).

But yes, there are people like me getting fit all over the place! Fair weathered exercisers. I’m personally taking it slow – as in crawling almost backwards through the local pool a couple of times while I wait to get back on that bicycle! It’s just no fun with snow (re: floods) on the ground!

This weekend marks 4 years of Josh putting up with me. Its pretty monumental.

So to celebrate we are going into London and have a date weekend. This one is all about doing everything we love but can’t fit in on a regular weekend. No errands! So of course I’m taking him shopping.

The one drawback is because of check in times we need to carry most of our clothes all day for all of the two days. Therefore everything we’re bringing needs to fit into a rucksack. Not an easy task when you’re a constant over packer.

So I have undertaken some rules to help. Which are:

  • Stick to three colours
  • Everything has to be remix-able with one another
  • and it has to fit into a small rucksack.

I am happy to report that this has worked and I may or may not have bought two new things just for the occasion. Opps, thats the part I don’t advise. Its not always budget friendly buying new clothes but it is our anniversary . . . so I’m letting myself off.

Like Father . . .

(This was for comical reasons – I try not to pull this face too often. It scares people.)

Like Father, Like Daughter.

Growing up, my dad was a Scout and Venturer Scout leader. This meant that several nights a week he was down at the ‘hut’ with a division of Hitchins Scouts. One of my dads favourite parts of scouting was the 40 mile walk. Several days of walking and camping was like a dream to my dad. Now before we get ahead of ourselves I am not saying that was all passed down. In fact I feel the oposite about camping. However walking is something he did pass on, however much we didn’t realise this when I was a kid.

When I left for University I spent a huge amount of time exploring London, by foot.

I didn’t expect to be the girl who would end up spending her free time working out how to walk from Greenwich & Deptford to Blackheath, Lewisham, Canary Warf, Bank, . . .Central. I even took trains into central to walk from Bank to Piccadily Circus (for the National Gallery) Westminister, Waterloo, Southbank . . .

And then when I met Josh our first date was us walking from Greenwich first to Canary Warf caught a train to Bank walked around Covent Garden for Lunch walked over to Green Park, Hyde Park down to St James and started back to greenwich via Elephant and Castle (thats how far we made before catching a bus).

Cities are my thing. Where my dad walks the countryside over hills and moutains I’m more the urban explorer. Luckily three years of exploring the city have meant that I have gained a slightly odd internal compass when it comes to the London Streets. So when the tube stikes hit I knew what I wanted to do. Walk it.

The first day, I didn’t. Primarily because I was concerned about not making it in on time. On google it said 38 minutes to work. Back in my hayday that would have been an easy 20 minutes but with a broken ankle dividing me from my prime I was little bit concerned on timings but by the second day I was away.

In fact, I got into work earlier than the day befores bus trip 25 minutes? Not bad. Especially for the girl who wanted to lay down by the time she got to The Oval Stadium. But the buzz that I get from walking is equivilant to when I’m on my bike, when I have gone on a run, you name it. Like father Like Daughter apparently. So with that in mind heres to the next Strike!

p.s. I didn’t wear this to walk in. I wore leggings and a “We love fish and chips tee from Zara” But I’d love to think that I am this stylish all the time . . .

Dark Days and Dark Lips.

ImageImageImageImageImage

Today, I’m sort of in mourning. Although I love Autumn, (with a passion) when the clocks go back I can’t help but feel a little sad. After all this means way less light, getting up in the dark, leaving the office in the dark . . . Its always dark, dark dark.

Never mind though because at least its an excuse to wear my favourite plum lipstick, again. I just hope you don’t all get sick of it too soon!

Also, this dress looks far better in person. I do hate how some things look incredible in real life and terrible in photos, or great in photos but terrible in life . . . I just wish that these photos came out better we took a tonne and got four.

Total success.

And I Go Back To Black . . .

Black Sweater: Dorothy Perkins, Grey T-Shirt: H&M, Maxi Skirt: Primarni, Shoes: New Look, Clutch Bag: Accessorize, Lightening Bolt Necklace: Accessorize

So theres only so much colour I can take obviously, I mean I went back to work today! Everyone knows office peeps in London-town only wear black, or grey but I did wear a bright pink scarf so i was pretty Jazzy for the big town today.

Also my apologies for the crazy hair, it was misty out and my hair really didn’t like it. Also I’ve got roots! I’ve tried hiding them, but honestly were getting to that stage now when you can see them, see them, if only I wasn’t so petrified of maidstone hairdressers then it all be ok.

Regardless I’ve never really been one of those girls, you know, the regular ones who get their colour done every six weeks. No I was the sixteen year old who cut a dread lock and knots out of my hair because I forgot to comb my hair for a year. I mean i learnt to comb my hair on a daily basis now i’ve just got to get over hairdresser fright . . .

Bootsmass . . .

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Happy bootsmass! everyone! So originally I had these two looks (for the same top) to post but to be honest I had so many good photo’s from this one that I figured i might just bore you with a second post for this top! Also did you see the boots? the boots of joy one might call them! I love them only a . . . huge, huge bit!

I’d wear them all the time but Josh probably would think I was taking it to far if I wore them in bed. Even though I perhaps want to!

but until them enjoy the rest of the festive season!

Christmas Recap

ImageImageImageImage

ImageImageImageImage

Over the festive period, I seemed to have wonderfully festive jeans. I only own two pairs of coloured jeans red and green which were great for christmas day and boxing day!

I also got to wear my awesome new boots which I strangely bought in the sale before christmas, but my sale drama’s are a whole other blog post! I’ve just been dying to share them with you all! they are just so fabulous and the heels arn’t too scary either which is great!

Other than that there’s not been too much time for outfit posts even though I have been planning a few much to my boyfriends dislike. Tomorrow however i’m going to try approaching the sales again on my list? A low fancy heel for NYE with the boy and a sequined skirt, you know you’ve average shopping list. Oh, and groceries but who cares about those?

Whats on your list?

A Merry Little Christmas.

ImageImageImage

ImageImageImageImage

ImageImageImageImageImage

Merry Christmas to you all! Whats your favourite thing about the festive season this year? My favourite thing is having my macbook back, granted I lost every document and picture including my dissertation and CV but now at least I have a shiny new feeling computer I even have the old apple screensaver going on!

Because of this merryness I thought it would only be right that I would take some photos and give you a christmas post, although to be honest I think i’ve eaten way too much bad food this week – I was feel decidedly podgy during the photos today.

I already know what my new years resolution will be to truly go lactose free rather than fighting my intolerance all the way. While also getting rid of all this bad food we’ve been indulging in as of late!

I’m also very excited for the up coming christmas sales, can you say booties? I could but im not a big fan of the word, so ill just say im buying boots, thats my plan, that and a new bag! So much to look forward to!

Have a merry Christmas everyone! and if your lucky you might just get to see me and the boys and christmas day outfits!

Jessx

Lucky you.

Tee- H&M, Skirt – H&M, Boots – Cavalier?, Scarf, FatFace, Cross ring – Dorothy Perkins, Watch – River Island

So I had thought that I would only give you the two previous posts but then I realised that that was a bit mean, considering seven/eight? days have gone by without all too many posts! So I wanted to give you an outfit I wore earlier on in the week, and never got time to post. (Because I was crashed out on the couch – but you didn’t hear that from me!)

This is a neat little work outfit thats both easy and professional to put on as well as uber comfy, its perfect for when I have to be smart but really don’t want to wear structured clothing. I mean waist bands that cut into you when you have to sit all day, do I really want that? never!

My only complaint is I love this v-neck t-shirts from H&M but a, they make them to short on the length firstly and then secondly the things shrink! Before I washed this T for the first time I was actually able to wear it with jeans, now however, not so much. Unless I want to wear a crop top.

Which I don’t, ever, this is not the nineties, thank god.

So until next time . . . . toddles . . .

Mondays unlike Sundays . . .

Image

Don’t give you time for photo-shoots.

Unfortunately for you guys my work day means I don’t get home until eight o’clock at best, so taking photographs tend to take a back seat to things like catching up on news, Kate Middleton is pregnant? (Im hoping its a girl) and eating dinner etc . . . So for todays out fit all I have is this ->

Top – H&M (Current Season) Skirt – H&M (Past season – Basics Collection) (Skull) Scarf – Zara (Portugal) Belt – Next (2009)

And its in a mirror! double wammy of rubbishness! So I figured, this is a Monday! I cant be giving all you poor worker bees such a boring post so luckily the other day I shot some fun shots for date night, because too much work attire drives anyone crazy!

Jumper (Dorothy Perkins), Scarf (Fat Face), Top (H&M, this season), Necklace (Accessorize), Belt (Next, 2009), Skirt (H&M, this season), Boots (New Look, This season)

My apologies for the blurriness but we had to take these photos with our tiny camera (mini me). But also don’t you love the funnyness of these boots, I like to call these my cowgirl boots, but I like the whimsy they add to this outfit without them, this could be a bit plain!

Until next time, Have a lovely week! xoxo
