Did you know that hanging paintings is far harder than it looks? I didn’t. It probably should have been obvious but after standing together for over two hours frustrated with three small canvas’s determined to hang in different directions I’m beginning to think I probably won’t hang paintings like this again, ever.
In case you do feel the urge this is what I would suggest.
- If hanging them with your partner tell each other before, “I love you, but during this process I might not love you as much . . . “
- Measure, measure, measure
- Two sets of hands are better than one
- Don’t let a hammer bounce off the back of the bed where it was balancing onto the exposed bed slates and let it go bouncing across the floor.
- Wear shoes
I initially photographed this thinking a how to! Yes! How hard can it be? Upon reflection I don’t think my method was flawless enough to emulate but the lessons and revelations I took from it? Priceless.
“Wear shoes” – Ha! So true and so funny. I go barefoot around the house pretty much all the time and it generally causes issues if I’m trying to do something physical. I just forget! Funny post, though the pictures look lovely!

Oh my gosh tell me about it! I do love being barefoot though! Seeing the temples in India was my dream, warm day, warm marble! Most incredible bare foot moment to date haha – that’s makes me sound weird I realise but Ho hum! ๐ thank you for your comment!!! Xx

I’ve come across some seemingly ingenious how to pins, but they have never worked out quite right. Hanging anything as a group is difficult. The finished product looks lovely though. Did you do paint these? I love the composition.

It’s so difficult! I don’t think I really expected it! ๐ I did – is it that obvious? Haha – it was meant to be straight up abstract but ended up like waves and maybe a peacock feather wasn’t a 100% on how I felt about it at first! Thank you for the comment! ๐ x

I have three words for you – 3M Command Strips. I don’t hang anything with nails unless it’s super duper heavy. The picture hanging strips are the best thing in the world. They’re a bit pricier than nails, for sure, but they make the whole process of wall decor pretty stress-free!

Where do you get this magic? Do you just attach them to the wall like tape? That’s amazeballs! Never again with the nails . . . Far too dangerous! ๐ xx

I’m not sure where they sell them in the UK, maybe go to the 3M Command website or buy them on Amazon. But they are seriously amazing.
