Social Media Break.
One of the big things that me and Josh have discussed this week is the need for distance from our phones. Fellow awesome bloggers, bemyintention and thelovelystars have both spoken about slowing down and having time out from Social Media and these are both things that I am really trying to include in my own life.
It really hit me on Wednesday when we took our weekly run. Rather than running round the park, chatting and wishing we were already at home, in bed, with pasta we stopped mid run for a little impromptu reflection and a look at the stars. It was a strange moment because I suddenly realised I couldn’t remember when I just stopped and looked up at the stars. Sure I caught the morning sun rising everyday on the train into work but had I really just stopped recently and just taken in the world?
We are now attempting to distance ourselves from social media a bit. Whether thats just avoiding the temptation to scroll through Instagram while waiting for take out or reading magazines and graphic novels before bed its all these small things that are really helping to transform us back to who we were prior to so much technology taking over our lives!
Its even more interesting because without technology and taking breaks from it over the weekend to get out more and see more of just the world, we already feel calmer and happier and that is never a bad thing.
To celebrate this new lifestyle and happier existence we are attempting to ignore those phones and today we are going to make brownies and a winter warmer before going to a midnight showing of Mortedecai.
What are you guys all doing this weekend to take a break?
Enjoy your weekend of peace!!
